When in doubt go for Layering!

Shalini Shoot 1.jpg

Layering is the key to be as stylish in winters as in any other season.

This is my another commercial editorial shoot where the main focus is on layering.

I have mixed florals with knitwear and frills adding texture to the look, all of them from H&M UK.

The veiled net headband is adding more edge to the look making it look classy. The earrings complete the look. The makeup was natural.

Why not try layering and be stylish as ever?

Until next time

And miles to go before I sleep,

And miles to go before I sleep.

90’s Fashion Fever!

LCS_Foundation_1st_Feb_20178796.jpg

Hey guys want to try the 90’s look but confused what to pair it up with?

Here is how you can modernise your 90’s look, flaunting those prints in smart and casual way. Torn denims look perfect with printed T-shirt. The cap and wrist band made the look edgy. The fold at the bottom of the denims, the braces and striped stole makes it even more stylish. The sneakers are so in trend and balanced the entire look.

This is my styling shoot inspired by the 90’s. The prints, stripes, ripped jeans and sneakers give the perfect glimpse of that era. The entire look is from H&M.

So why not try this 90’s inspired look and be in love with that era all over again.

Until next time,

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

But I have promises to keep,

And miles to go before I sleep,

And miles to go before I sleep.

The special day leading to a new start and new me

Love yourself first and everything falls into line. I have started writing dairy and this blog above all. I have become a person who lives life instead of putting self into a madeup cage.

One should be an observer and should try to choose simpler ways as toughest ways sometimes only complicate things. Only a certain percentage of what we worry about actually happens. So, it is better to stop thinking on petty issues. On  this day I am infused with more love.

I have started working on myself, to correct the wrongs and counterfeit the shortcomings.

skate_season_14dec2016_1224I went to Somerset Ice-skate without even knowing how to skate. Initially I was just holding the rails and moving along with it. The fear of taking risks will go only if I take some risks to live the life that I have dreamt of. So, I left the railing started skating slowly, fell a couple of times only to learn how to not repeat the same mistake.

One can learn things only when one is eager to take the risks.

But I have promises to keep,

And miles to go before I sleep,

And miles to go before I sleep.

Dayout at Bicester Village

It’s all about good friends and good shopping. A day when a confused shopper becomes a changed one. I started for Bicester at 9:30 as it requires an entire day to shop there. If one purchases train tickets for Bicester from Cumberland Hotel, additional 10% vouchers is given. It is an hour away from London. This was the first time I was travelling out of London so, I was really excited to see the country side. The beautiful fields, snow mountains,  and Wembley Stadium could all be seen during the journey.

The entrance of the village was lit and there wee different huts for each brand. They looked very pretty. One can go to there site to see the list of the brands available there. It has most of the brands and that too at just half the price of the retail stores. The only thing is that it is either the rejected or the previous year’s collection. They have tax refund office as well where one can easily get tax refunded then and there. It is open on all days but on Saturdays they are open for an extra hour and on tuesdays they have their stock update.

While returning from there we could see women dragging big plastic bags which had a lot of of other paper bags, which made us burst out in laughter seeing people shop so much.

But I have promises to keep,

And miles to go before I sleep,

And miles to go before I sleep.

Either you run the day or day runs you

Mornings with the sight of snowfall are always pretty but are lazier at the same. Seeing that my heart felt like ice-skating. So, I started for Somerset Ice Skating, which is one of the best places for Ice-skating in London. Also we had a field trip to the vintage stores in Shoreditch with our professor this day where I had to manage everyone. I had a perfect plan to purchase tickets and then continue with the field trip but being less known about the places delayed everything.

I was running late, when I reached shoreditch, the trip had already started and I was there asking my colleagues to catch up with them. After a lot of phone calls I reached the place they originally started and then where they were.

Some of the stores in Shoreditch where one can find superb vintage pieces are

  1. Bitsch Kitsch London
  2. Rokit Collections
  3. Vintage Rokit
  4. Ragyard
  5. Vintage Market

But then 2-3 stores later again I missed them while I was checking the collection. The phone calls went on for some hours when we finally reached Fashion and Textile Museum along with them. Ah! That was the last stop of that entire hustle bustle. The museum had all the collections of the women’s wear during the 1920-decade in detail. The placement and the dresses were so pretty that I could hardly take my eye off them. The embroidery, silhouettes and patterns used were remarkably fashionable.

The day ended in Woolpack, which was crowded and had yummy Camembert soldier chips and desserts.

The first snow is like first love. Do you remember your first snow?

All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. I knew that it is going to snow in London so on this day I planned to explore Holloway, and the places near around. People were carrying umbrella enjoying the little drizzles waiting for the snow.

Meanwhile I passed by many grocery stores, stationery, Yoga houses and even a wine warehouse. Didn’t know there were so many stores here. I started back for home as darkness started to take its place and there was no sign of snow. Then suddenly in between the drizzles there comes the little snowflakes, confounding them as water drops until they started to fall in prominent shape. My hands were freezing still they stood there to capture the glimpse of the snowfall. The streets looked so pretty giving all that London vibes.

The snowfall only lasted for an hour but those sparkling eyes on the sight of snowfall were the sign of ultimate happiness.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

But I have promises to keep,

And miles to go before I sleep,

And miles to go before I sleep.

1930’s- Glamorous age of Women’s Fashion

fullsizerender

The era was the return to gentle and more feminine appearance. The shoulder and waistline curves were emphasised. Tidy and sweet at the day time and glamorous  at night.

Biased cuts, lobster prints, embellishments, embroidery and metal work could be seen in the dresses. Fur sleeves also prevalent during that time. Gowns were made in satins, crepe-de-chines, silks, crepes and chiffons by cross cutting the fabric.

Hats, beret, turban, cloche were were well coordinated. They used prominent colours on lips and faux eyelashes. Their eyebrows were thinner.

Kathrine Hepburn and Joan Crawford were some of the icons during that era.

Men continued with their relaxed clothing and narrow trousers.
